Clarity Training Design

Client: Mid-sized business in Phoenix, AZ

Project Summary:The client wanted training to help leadership define clear success criteria to measure progress and outcomes effectively but offered minimal direction. The director asked me to design a session that could be facilitated by other leaders without needing further collaboration or customization.

My Role: I led the design and development of the session from start to finish. In our initial meeting, I used intentional, clarifying questions to draw out the director’s expectations and goals, which were initially vague. Once I had a clearer understanding, I mapped out the core objectives and proposed a draft outline for the session. With her approval, I moved forward to build the complete training package and materials for internal facilitation.

Approach: I used a backwards design process to anchor the training in clear, measurable outcomes. Starting with the end in mind, I built each component to help participants understand and define what success looks like for their teams. The session included a thoughtfully sequenced slide deck, reference sheets, and graphic organizers to support real-time application of new ideas. To encourage active engagement and peer discussion, I developed a menu of interactive activities that facilitators could adapt based on their team's needs. Because every team operates differently, the training was intentionally designed to be clear in purpose but flexible in execution to allow facilitators to tailor it while still meeting core objectives.
